The Forever Purge

An installment tailored for the America of today that will likely satisfy fans of the franchise - 5.5/10

QUICK THOUGHTS: This is the Purge franchise at its most political... and I kinda liked that about it. The statements it makes about America's rising culture of violence and ongoing racial tensions are not exactly subtle, but they do make the watch infinitely more interesting. Alas, the story runs out of fuel towards the middle as it struggles to offer anything new, instead relying on typical genre clichés such as obnoxious jump scares or lazy conveniences. Odds are that you'll enjoy the film if you understand what you're walking into, otherwise you're better off skipping it.
