The Fast Saga - Fast & Furious 9

It’s not that bad after all - 6/10

by The Movies Critic

This film is called an action film for a reason and the audience should keep that in mind, so treat the film based on its genre. You can’t watch an action film and expect it not to have crazy action sequences. And of course, it’s impossible to get a flawless action movie because, at the end of the day, the action will be dominant in the film.

F9 sends the franchise hurtling further over the top than ever. Although some people might compare it to a Bollywood film, I honestly don’t mind the crazy things they’ve done in this film as long as the film kept me entertained (which it did) and everything they did had somewhat a logical reason behind it even though it might be impossible in real life. This doesn’t change the fact that the film had many weak elements. There wasn’t anything special about the plot, somewhat predictable, and the characters just kept on spawning so if you’re not a fan of this franchise you’ll get lost.

On the other hand, F9 isn’t a masterpiece or anything but I don’t think that it’s a bad film and the main reason is because it’s enjoyable despite the flaws. This film wanted to take the action sequence to a different level and to be honest, it did that. The VFX and the “exaggerated” action sequences were up to par. Additionally, the family theme that this film tackle was heartwarming and alright. Give this film a chance and just enjoy it.
