Well That was a disappointing experience!!! First of all, let me mention three important stuff: NO this sequel wasn’t necessary, NO it didn’t add anything to the original film and NO it was nothing close the first one’s atmosphere. “A Quiet Place: Part II” was struggling to “invent” sublots and introduce new characters to properly function.... yet it couldn’t. The plot was trying to dig deeper into the original concept by adding new details in order to create a unique identity but this decision was a double-edged sword because it took the story to a whole different path. The result: so many illogical moments, some questionable elements from the first film and a second act that was so boring and uninteresting. Acting was (again) the strongest element, and some directorial choices were good, but these two elements couldn’t really make this film seem exciting nor valuable. If it wasn’t for the beautifully crafted Climax (the last 30 min of the film) it would’ve been a completely boring experience full of unnecessary dialogues and lazy jump scares. “A Quiet Place: Part II” was definitely not disastrous, it had few elements to appreciate but it didn’t add anything interesting to the story. It’s just another sequel trying to create a franchise out of a successful horror film!!
