Red Sparrow is a very intense thriller directed by Francis Lawrence. The main character, Jennifer Lawrence as Dominika Egorova, is a ballerina who had to stop her career due to an injury, leaving her with an unstable future, she is then devoted to protect her mom at all costs. She is manipulated by her uncle to join “Sparrow school”, a russian service that trains people to use their body as a weapon, to serve the government. Along the way of her first mission, Dominika meets a CIA agent to whom she gains trust. She becomes involved in both the american, and the russian government, which puts herself and both nations at risk. Her intelligence and strength lead her to the manipulation of her uncle. Despite some harsh and disturbing scenes I couldn’t lay eyes on, this movie is a must see, Veronika is the hero we all aim to be.
