Murder has a name and it is Michael Myers

Laurie Strode (played by the wonderful Jamie Lee Curtis) comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Before i start with my review, i just want to say that this sequel surprised me. It is much better than i anticipated.

Now on with my review.

What attracted me the most about Halloween is the creepy murderous vibe it's sending. From the second it started till the second it ended, this vibe never subsided. This is mainly due to David Gordon Green's great directing skills. Very few directors can pull this off.

In addition, i love how this sequel stayed true and connected to the original 'Halloween' while neglecting all the other ones in the franchise. Everything about this film is big and vicious, especially the killings, i liked all the necks snapping and head popping... I just wish the total count of murders was greater than this, but still I was satisfied.

But what's truly remarkable is that the whole movie is shot from a family's perspective. Meaning that, putting aside this whole murders/killer/revenge thing, this movie showed us how traumas like this one affect our lives and their consequences on the familial atmosphere. Good job for thinking this way Green because alot of people can relate to it.

Jamie Lee Curtis was phenomenal. I really admired her touch on Laurie with her PTSD and Michael Myers issues.

Even though this sequel had nothing new to deliver to its genre, it still is more realistic than the other ones in the franchise (except the original). And what's really cool about it is that it can function as a stand-alone. So you don't have to watch the original to actually enjoy this one.

At the end, I'm just glad we finally have a good slasher movie to watch - especially on Halloween.
