Bad Times at the El Royale

Not so bad after all - 7.5/10

by This Is My Review

I usually tend to like actions more than words in movies, that’s why I enjoy twisted and unexpected scenes more than dialogues. “Bad Times at the El Royal” had a great and unexpected plot that was ruined by its dialogue. A clever way to introduce the main characters, with great performances (especially Jon Hamm) and some catchy lines, but as soon as we get to the “real action” things get a little confusing. I kept losing interest and then being shocked scene after scene until the final act that was good but out of control. Some scenes were too long, as if they’re losing their purpose until something big happens to get us back on track. “Bad Times at El Royal” is an entertaining treat if you’re a fan of heavy action and thrilling films.
