An inspiring mission driven by ambition and uniqueness.

First Man is a look at the life of the Astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the moon on July 20, 1969.

I liked Damien Chazelle's take on one of the worlds most dangerous missions because even though we all know how the movie ends, we were still wondering and questioning what will happen next? But to be totally honest, because i knew all the facts before, at first i felt a bit disconnected but only for the first part of the movie.

On the other hand, i loved how this movie captured Armstrong's weakest and proudest moments and i dont think anyone could have played a better Neil than Ryan Gosling, his performance was so sincere and true (i really hope he gets an Oscar nomination).

Plus, how can i not talk about Claire Foy's formidable performance? This woman keeps on surprising me, role after role, i can not believe how exceptional her performance was. This movie is NOTHING without her. NOTHING.

I have to admit, this film is a bit long and some scenes were prolonged way too much but i understand it had to be done for the sake of the story. But, i just want to talk about two scenes towards the end of the movie, im sure once you watch it you will know what im talking about. These two scenes were simply masterpieces. Everything about them was cleverly crafted from the editing to the very beautiful and extremely well chosen soundtracks. They are mainly the reason why i gave this movie such score. These two scenes are the definition of Heroism and Bravery (metaphorically ).

In addition, i loved the overall feeling of suspense and tension that started building from the very first scene with a very appropriate and well studied pace.

First Man is not your everyday school project kind of movie, it is so much more. It has the ability to make you wonder and reflect upon your existence.

For sure an experience not to miss. Highly recommend it.
