Justice League

One Amazing dish, Too many cooks - 7/10

Tell any kid you're going into a room full of candy and an exciting show and watch the joy in his eyes and smile. That kid is me and the entertainment is none other than Justice League.

Besides a very silly and stupid pre-credits scene, the movie starts off beautifully in the opening credits scene that mirror the psychological and social aftermath left behind Superman's death, a set back imprinted on all the people of Metropolis.

First signs of danger accompany Stepponwolf and his parademons in his quest to collect the mother boxes and unleash hell and Bruce Wayne feels compelled to gather a team strong enough to eliminate the threat.

The movie surely slowburns as Bruce Wayne(Affleck) gathers the team members but as soon as they are together and are on tbe same page, the action and humor pick up. Their chemistry and differences work well in defying the odds and aiding them to bond together as one strong team.

Despite extravagant action set pieces and jokes in abundance (some are funny, some....not so much), having a basic and simple premise does not mean you can construct it in equal mediocrity and bland simplicity. The story certainly falters in the plot area where everything is exposed from the beginning with no suspense, danger, or any stakes at hand and sad to say even Superman suffers from his rushed involvement and the manner with which he comes back to help his team mates battle the ugliest, weakest, and most CGI-ed villain i have ever seen in my life, not weak in powers but certainly benign in portraying any amount of danger and Warner Bros' and the directors's unwise decision to have a full fledged villain with dialogue, emotions, and facial expressions in full CGI destroyed his potential notoriety and threat to smithereens. The plot keeps suffering until its weakest breathe when all the team's problems and conflicts are resolved in just one scene or span of time.

As Ethan Hunt(Cruise) once said in Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol: "the only thing that functioned properly on that mission was this team", this certainly applies here. The only positive light i see this film in is what this league managed to do and what their chemistry and skills might potentially promise to be and do in future movies. So safe to say the kid in me left the movie theatre with yummy-looking candy that tasted mmmm... okay and....a fancy... often fun... show.
