A Forgettable movie - 4.5/10

The best word to describe my reaction after seeing this film: Disappointed. The story behind YESTERDAY is unique and special, unfortunately the weak execution ruined the whole experience. The movie has no heart, it feels like a series of related actions that you don’t really care about. I couldn’t build a proper connection with any of the characters. There was no real chemistry between the two main leads, many actions were illogical and happened only to serve the movie’s purpose. The comedy was a huge flaw, many of the jokes were lame, misplaced and ruined the movie’s tone. I really like Danny Boyle, he’s done some good movies (Steve Jobs, Slumdog Millionaire...) but his choice of angles in this film was really weird and sometimes confusing. Not to forget that the sound was too high during the songs which was really annoying. A movie with a good story but weak treatment. If you’re looking for a simple popcorn comedy and you’re a huge fan of “The Beetles”..... then you’ll definitely enjoy this one.
