Child's Play

Chucky's killer comeback!! - 6.5/10

I'm honestly amazed!!

The movie follows the story of young Andy Barclay, whom after moving to a new city, receives a special present from his mother - - a seemingly innocent Buddi doll that becomes his best friend. When the doll suddenly takes on a life of its own, Andy unites with other neighborhood children to stop the sinister toy from wreaking bloody havoc.

Okay so I'm not going to write a long review, instead I'm just going to give my honest opinion in the most simple way possible.

Generally speaking, Child's Play exceeded my expectations. Starting with the story, while in fact, it lacked a very necessary component, depth, it was still really funny and gory. In other words, nothing new was presented, nor created. So if you're looking for something out of box, extraordinary, then this isn't your movie.

To continue, I have to say that the cast was pretty good. Aubrey Plaza was absolutely fantastic, I honestly really liked her performance. On the other hand, we have Mark Hamill voicing the notorious Chucky Doll and let me tell you this guys, it was sooo good. His take on this sinister character was surprisingly really well thought of and executed.

In addition, the Doll itself, Chucky, was at first really cute, then slowly turned into a creepy killing machine with a thrust for blood. Its sooo cool!!! Seeing Chucky in his element brought back all kinds of amazing memories.

The only thing i would have added is more power, more intensity. Even though, it was pretty gory and bloody, I kinda wished we'd seen more.

At the end, Child's play is definitely an enjoyable slasher remake that I absolutely loved!!
