A great monster movie! - 8/10

I like movies with good written characters as much as every movie goer, but Dunkirk made me realize that focusing on the main part of any movie is the logical way.

Of course I’m not comparing the two films but each had a big climax which were the important part of them, each didn’t focus on characters but did focus on the “Event”. Characters are used in a way to bring a film to life, to make you understand the story but not necessarily to entertain you, especially at this case Godzilla: King of the monsters.

When I heard about the film the only thing I had in mind is to watch Godzilla.. well to be a “King” that is depending on the title of the film, other things would’ve been extra. I don’t think the film had a bad story, bad characters yes but the events were very enjoyable and honoring to the famous monsters.

The monsters were visually appealing and story wise entertaining, I liked how they gave us more insights on Godzilla which you can’t help but admire, plus the film opened a new door for more sequels and prequels.

Godzilla: King of the monsters lacked in some parts of its story but was a beautiful and well directed film, gave a real tribute to those famous characters.
