Godzilla: King of the Monsters

An unimaginably monstrous fiasco - 5/10

An unimaginably monstrous fiasco.

This film does nothing but a horrible job at providing a decent sequel to the first Godzilla film.

As you watch the movie, a lot of its scenes will remind you of the vibes of certain series such as Stranger Things-with Millie Bobby Brown’s similar acting charisma and exact movements- or Arrival and even the last two Avengers film. Oh and Aquaman’s visuals too.

Moreover, all of the decisions taken by the characters made no sense to me. A cheap copy of Thanos’s balance reasoning.

Nonetheless there wasn’t a good “flow” of actions. Every decision or action was layered on top of the other which resulted in a chaotic mess. Plus, there were too many strong sounds layered during the “monsters” fight making them the least enjoyable part for me.

Apart from that, the CGI was amazingly executed which kind of made it up for the weak plot and the absence of character development and arc.

Nothing was truly impressive except for the giant monsters’ big entrances.

NB: the 3D experience doesn’t make anything any better.
