Godzilla: King of the Monsters

An Enjoyable Roller Coaster of Events - 7/10

This movie was not what I expected.

I walked into this movie with no expectations whatsoever and walked out feeling satisifed-ish.

Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

The best thing about this movie was ultimately the CGI and Cinematography. There are a lot of fightscenes between monsters that gave me goosebumps. Every single monster was so realistic to the audience, every scene was perfectly lit and designed to appeal to the audeince's eyes and not be too crowded with information.

Sound in this movie was outstanding. Every scene had the perfect type of sound according to the tone of the story at the time.

Despite the average acting in most of the movie, Millie Bobby Brown's acting was, as always, phenomenal and I can't wait to see her in more projects soon.

However, there are some thing that didn't impress me at all,

First of them being the script. We were spoonfed the information about the monsters, their backstory, and the characters' backstories after San Francisco without even trying to add some mystery and suspense.

The plot of the movie was weak in the first act but then got itself together by the second and final act.

The characters in this movie were two dimensional. I couldn't emotionally relate to any of the characters and some characters were just written to give off information without having any connection to the story whatsoever. I related to the monsters, specially Mothra, more than most human characters.

Overall, I would recommend this movie. Fans of the comics would love it and first time watchers could grow to love it based on this entry.

Final Grade: 7/10
