Aladdin

A great remake of the classic movie - 8.5/10

I was really looking forward to watch Aladdin and was late to do it but I really loved it.

The visuals were great, and I liked the fact that Guy Ritchie was the director; he added a lot of twists from the dances, the effects and the action scenes with some slow motion stuff.

Will Smith is one my favorite actors, he did a spectacular job, from being really funny as he always is in almost every movie to being the spotlight and I even appreciated that his singing is still good.

As for Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine) and Mena Massoud (Aladdin), they were awesome in terms of acting, dancing and singing and I am not sure if she was the one singing some of the songs but she is so damn good at it. Marwan Kenzari (Jafar) at first I thought that they could have chosen a more evil looking actor and someone who is less straighforward, but later on he really nailed it and showed that he was the right choice for “Jafar” especially when doing the connection between the evil “Jafar” we know from the classic Disney movie.

I would criticize a bit the musical scenes that were a mix between Arabian, Indian and something modern which did not really go well together but were nice though for a change.

And the scene of  “A whole new world” song when Aladdin and Princess Jasmine were on the magic carpet, it passed really quickly and the background visuals were not that good.

It is really a fun and joyful movie with great selection of actors and amazing visual effects.
