A Vigilante isn’t just a powerful and inspiring movie: it’s the ultimate cathartic experience.
This film is upfront about the cruel reality of domestic abuse, that is being neglected by many. Most targets being innocent women and children, this issue is more than alarming.
Sadie, the main character, is a domestic abuse survivor, who dedicates her life to avenge all the victims by going after their abuser, until she has given them all their rights. But she can’t totally be free since her husband has gone missing, and she definitely needs to go after him to make him pay for his mistakes.
The spirit of the film may remind you of “The Punisher” or “The Equalizer” but there’s something about being a female lead that shits the way you look at the issues at hand.
Although this movie is all about violence and avenging, you will definitely agree with everything the character is doing as you will put yourself in her shoes, feel anger and pity yourself, and wish you were there to end this calamity.
Even tough this film features some weak elements, the main key to enjoy it is to dive deep into its psychological side rather than take it superficially.
