A Vigilante

The emotionless Drama - 5.5/10

Good elements that were poorly executed...I have mixed feelings towards ”A Vigilante”. The story was interesting, but I had a huge issue with the way it was treated. In a similar story we should connect with the main character from the very first moment, unfortunately in “A Vigilante” we couldn’t. The first 45 minutes were a series of repetitive scenes trying to tell the same action that we already know, without giving us a reason to sympathize with our main character. We just see her repeating the same things until it creates a disconnection, and the movie’s tone made things even worse. The pace was slow, sometimes too slow insisting on unnecessary scenes without giving importance to the parts that matter. After the main character tells her story, things were a bit better but it was too late. Olivia Wilde had a strong performance, she was able to present her character in the most suitable way. On the other hand, the other performances were really weak and added no value to the movie. “A Vigilante” is dark and depressing at some point, you will enjoy it if you’re a fan of this genre.
