It’s not a typical Superhero film.... because our main character is special and unusual. Every element in SHAZAM was perfectly balanced: The right amount of comedy (no misplaced Jokes) and drama plus a good message delivered in a beautiful way. The character of SHAZAM has a unique personality never seen in a superhero film before and they knew how to use it properly. Credits should be given to the script who presented this element in a perfect way. The antagonist was one of the strongest elements in this film, he had a logical purpose, a good set-up and Mark Strong’s performance was really good. He’s definitely the best DC Villain to be portrayed in their Extended Universe. Some of the supporting characters weren’t developed much especially during the first act although they had a huge role in the film, and that’s the only flaw I can think of. Even if you’re not a fan of Superhero films, you will enjoy SHAZAM because it has a bit of everything.
