To be honest, this is the first Lebanese movie I watch in a cinema, & I can say that it was a major surprise!
I didn’t expect such progress in local filmmaking after some that I have seen in previous years!
Director Rindala Kodeih, known for Al-Arishe movie, who she won best director for at the BIFF, did a great job in executing this film. The editing, cinematography and effects were impressive considering the fact that it is a local production! Well done Rindala!
The story had its ups and downs. The movie sheds the light on the topic of drugs and the possibility of legalizing its use in the country, which has debates between groups of citizens. It shows the life of 5 poor men who trade in drugs to improve their families’ financial status. The events were moving in a good pace until a gap in the story happens and I get confused. This might have been the con in the story building.
The actors’ performances were studied perfectly especially Rita Harb and Tony Issa!
The overall atmosphere was humorous, which really entertained me and the audience.
So, for all Lebanese cinema lovers, this is your movie of the year! Go give it a shot!
