Greta

The Illogical Thriller - 6/10

by This Is My Review

If a story is not convincing, you cannot really sympathize or even connect with the characters. “Greta” had a good start, with great potential for an interesting story development, unfortunately after the second act things became illogical which ruined the whole experience for me. Many scenes seemed fake without a proper character transformation. Greta started as a psychopath but she was later transformed into an unbeatable human being. What bothered me is the fact that these illogical actions were just there to increase the movie’s runtime and to give the story a purpose. I enjoyed the movie’s atmosphere, the tone was good and some scenes were thrilling. Isabelle Huppert was stunning, as if the role was written for her. She was creepy and convicing, you will feel afraid by just looking at her. Chloe Moretz did a great job, she has potential and that’s definitely not her best performance. “Greta” is a good and enjoyable thriller that took a wrong illogical path after a good start.
