Everything you saw, heard or read about Serenity is not important. This movie will get you glued to your chairs the second it starts rolling and you wont be able to take your eyes out of its sight until the moment it ends.

Serenity follows the story of Baker Dill, a fishing boat captain who struggles to remember his mysterious past and finds himself ensnared in a reality where nothing is what it seems.

Before starting my review, i want to say im extremely thrilled for having a movie which its focal point is domestic abuse and its consequences on children. In fact, domestic abuse is a nationwide dilemma that continues to have serious results on the disadvantaged children trapped in the situation. Unfortunately, the consequences, both physically and psychologically, are way more serious to neglect. This is for anyone dealing with this problem, directly or indirectly, seek help, in Lebanon numerous organizations such as KAFFA can help. Ask for it now before its too late.

As i mentioned before, in Serenity, nothing is what it seems. What starts as a typical story about a man who leaves everything behind in order to live in a secluded island, suddenly transforms into a labyrinth of mysteries and emotions!

The storyline/plot itself reassembles one big Rubik's cube. As much as you try to figure it out, you wont succeed. Its haunting and mysterious and this is the kind of vibe that made Serenity a great thriller like no other in recent years.

Director Steven Knight, took his time with the main character 'Baker Dill', we got to know every litte detail about him : his insecurities, his fears and his temptations. And it was perfectly portrayed by Mathew McConaughey, whose performance only got deeper and better by every passing scene. By his side is femme fatal wannabe Anne Hathaway. She seriously went over the top for this role and surprisingly succeeded.

In addition, Knight's directing skills were absolutely amazing, he managed to create a world of ones and zeros that will blow everyones minds.

Serenity is the kind of movies you wont be able to forget in a really long time.
