This feel-good piece of cinema will definitely warm up your heart with its emotional and hilarious story about a wealthy man with quadriplegia and unemployed man with a criminal record and the unlikable friendship they seem to form.

One of 'The Upside' s highlights is the remarkable message it is trying to send about never losing hope, we all make mistakes but that doesn't mean they define us. Everyone deserves a second chance and as long as we have hope and faith, we will be just fine! For those who don't know, The Upside is actually adapted from the French blockbuster The Untouchables while still having an identity of its own. But what also most viewers dont know is that these 2 inspiring movies are based on a true story about 2 men who managed to put all their differences aside in order to live life to the fullest.

The Illusionist director, Neil Burger, knew how to translate this relationship and this story in a way every person can relate to. It was an interpretation for the everyday kind of guy to watch! But what i didn't like is that at the beginning, the characters were stereotyped, a wealthy 'white man' and a 'black' conman. This, even Though Burger was being faithful to the original story, felt wrong and dare i say racist.

In addition, the storyline was really predictable but the pacing was on point, so you will definitely enjoy it. It flows so effortlessly.

Plus, The Upside's cast was really great. Nicole Kidman, Bryan Cranston and Julianna Morgulies all delivered good performances. But i have to salute Kevin Hart, he seriously stepped it up this time and his performance was touching, fun and uplifting. This is the kind of talent Hollywood should pay tribute to, he's an exceptional comedian who's not afraid to ugly cry when needed.

In general, The Upside is the kind of movies that has the ability to make you see the good in people. It is so inspiring i cant not recommend it.

A definite must watch!!
