"My mother told me to be a lady. And for her, that meant be your own person, be independent." - RBG.

Gendet discrimination is a worldwide dilemma that continues to be a threat holding nations back from fulfilling their duties and growing as a homogeneous unit. In the past decade, Lebanon's ranking among the world's contries for gender equality declined from 116 to 135 out of 142. Let that sink in!!

A damn cottage can't function without the support and acknowledgement of all its habitats, men and women, so what about a country?

On the Basis of Sex follows the true and inspiring story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, her struggles for equal rights and the early cases of a historic career that lead to her nomination and confirmation as U.S Supreme Court Associate Justice.

This dramatic biography is by no means perfect, it had its decent share of flaws which I'll be discussing in a bit but what i really want to highlight in my review is the importance of acknowledging women's rights. Nowadays, every living creature on the planet knows the meaning of feminism and equality, but on the ground, women especially in Arab countries, are still being treated as inferiors and alot of their fundamental and basic rights are still nowhere to be found. Its time to open our eyes, reality won't change itself unless we change it. We, women and men, by working together possess the power to change history. And who's a better example to follow than the legendary RBG whom was fabulously portrayed by Felicity Jones.

Director Mimi Lederch, chose her cast wisely. Personally, Justin Theroux really surprised me, i wasn't expecting him to be this good.

In addition, the costumes, the colors and the camera work added a nice touch to the already amazing story.

But on the other hand, the pace was really monotonous, which at some parts left me feeling kinda underwhelmed. Plus the script wasn't powerful enough. Having a story and a message this big requires having a one of a kind script, which was totally missing.

At the end, this story is an experience no one should miss.

Recommend it.
