If I had to describe “Mary Poppins Returns” in one words, I would say: Fresh. Although the story is not original, and we already know the characters and we expect the ending, you feel like watching something fresh and beautifully executed. They tried to remake the same magical spirit the first one had, and added some new elements (and technology helped alot). Music is the first thing to discuss in such movies, and it was really good. Some Songs were catchy, good messages in the lyrics and the choreography was stunning in many scenes. Emily Blunt was amazing, she was a “perfect” Mary Poppins. Animation and CGI were very good and added a big value to the film. After all, it’s Disney so we didn’t expect anything below average or even “normal”. Some scenes were too long, and dialogue was not too strong. I had the same issue with the first one but in this sequel it appears more. A movie full of energy and colors that every family member can enjoy.
