Incredibles 2 is the sequel to the 2004 classic hit Incredibles produced yet again by the very talented and brilliant individuals at Pixar Animation Studios. The story picks up directly after the ending of the first movie, with the attack of the Underminer (John Ratzenberger) on the city of Metroville. After an exhausting fight that leaves much of the city in total chaos and destruction, the legal status of heroes comes into question once more, and our beloved heroic family is forced into retirement. In comes Winston Deavor (Bob Odenkirk), who wants to bring back the superheroes out of hiding, and make their status legal again. In order to do that, he and his sister Evelyn Deavor (Catherine Keener) devise a plan to change the public's perception of superheroes into a positive one. They hire Elastigirl/Helen Parr (Holly Hunter) for the job, while her husband Mr. Incredible/ Bob Parr (Craig T. Nelson) stays home to take care of the kids. The story unfolds as we see Elastigirl take on her new role, which is made difficult by the mysterious villain Screenslaver. Meanwhile, Mr. Incredible is dealing with the many difficult responsibilities of taking care of a family. It's been 14 years since the release of the 1st film, and I'm going to be very honest with you folks, the movie is worth the wait and then some. I truly believe Incredibles 2 was able to live up to the expectations, and even surpass the original in all its beauty and splendor. There were no dull or unnecessary moments. Quite the contrary, the movie is much more hilarious and fun. I simply can't talk about how funny it is without mentioning baby Jack Jack, who constantly leaves the entire movie theater in laughter. At one point, I actually teared up from all the laughter, and for that I must give him praise. Just a regular scene stealer whenever his character is on display. Dashiell "Dash" Parr (Huck Milner), Violet Parr (Sarah Vowell), Edna "E" Mode (Brad Bird), and Frozone/Lucius Best (Samuel L. Jackson) also make a return, with the kids playing a more significant role this time around. The action sequences were just wonderful, and certainly much bigger and better than before. If I had to nitpick at the movie and mention a flaw, I'd say that the villain and the story surrounding him were a bit predictable, but that doesn't really take away anything from my overall enjoyment of the feature. Director and writer Bard Bird makes an excellent, hilarious, sweet and long awaited sequel for long time fans and newcomers as well. Incredibles 2 will undeniably go down as one of the best summer movies of all time.
