Supercalifragilisticexpialidociously passable.

Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny 'Mary Poppins' returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael's children through a difficult time in their lives.

We all know that adapting a movie like 'Mary Poppins' is not an easy task as for the original one was simply historical. This being said, unfortunately, this remake SOMEHOW failed to live up to my expectations.

Let me start by saying that Emily Blunt was the highlight of this film. She was the perfect choice to take on this iconic character. Spicy, warm, lovable and absolutely perfect, Blunt managed to surpass all my hopes and delivered a performance that Julie Andrews would bow down to. I can't seem to find the proper words to actually describe her perfection. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep and the legendary Dick Van Dyke were also magical and added a really sweet flavor to the movie.

In addition, the special effects and the animated sequences were, surprisingly, on a whole new level : vibrant, colorful and eye-popping. Every scene would transport you into one of Mary Poppins's magical worlds where even the impossible is the possible.

The cinematography and the camera work were okay, they could've been a whole lot better.

But,and this do break my heart, everything else was below average starting from the very catchy yet forgettable soundtracks. In the moment they're really cool and manage to create a fun fast-paced ambiance but the instant they're done its like they never happened.

In addition, the pacing was all over the place, at some scenes it was totally slow and in others totally fast. This only made the movie less bearable. Plus, the storyline, even though it contains a huge amount of inspiring messages for both kids and adults, was extremely predictable and childish. This was a big slap to the face because i was expecting this movie to be perfect from all aspects.

But with everything said, i must add that Mary Poppins Returns is still a magical ride worthy of a watch this Christmas.
