Green Book

A warm and powerful biopic - 9/10

by The Movie Inspector

A warm and light biopic, Green Book is a powerful film that touches on deep moral lessons through its elegantly crafted narrative. The movie shines with Its lead actors’ marvelous performances while maintaining its humorous tone and providing lots of heart!

First of all, this movie is so engaging and heartwarming that viewers can’t help but get instantly immersed into its story. It has the perfect blend of comedy and drama that allows it to easily flow across its 129 minute runtime and still leave you begging for more. ‘Green Book’ Follows an Italian-American bouncer who forms an unlikely bond with an African-American musician after he takes up a job as his personal driver while he goes on tour across Southern American states in the 1960s.

What makes the movie so charming is the Oscar worthy performances of Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali. Through their perfectly written characters we are able to empathize with each one of them and learn a great deal of moral lessons that revolve around race and class. It’s thought provoking and provides an insightful view on the completely opposite lives the two men lead. What elevates the movie even further is the chemistry shared between the two actors and that never fails to keep viewers entertained.

The movie works with a well structured script that does an excellent job at developing its characters and setting a solid series of events. The screenplay will definitely receive an oscar nomination and hopefully a win. It’s just so smooth In the delivery of its ideology and themes that absolutely nothing feels forced or sloppy. The movie is a definite crowd-pleaser and is highly recommended as it’s one of the best films of the year. So make sure to watch it when it gets released next week and don’t forget to send me your feedback!
