When it comes to movies treating similar subjects (racism, discrimination...), most of them tend to deliver their messages in a heavy or clichee way .... fortunately “Green Book” knew how to be “special” while treating a tough and risky subject. It’s all about the script, the film’s strongest point. It was so smooth and light, and by light I mean delivering its messages without lecturing or spoon-feeding. The dialogue between the characters was deep but presented in the most simple way, they often used comedy to help and it works perfectly. It’s easy to build a strong connection with the characters and understand their motives and backgrounds. Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali had a great chemistry, their performances were stunning (Do I smell Oscar nominations?). Great characters, strong script and smooth pacing.... Green Book is a highly recommended film that everybody can enjoy.
