I Still See You

A thriller that needed an extra push. - 5.75/10

Everyone who knows me, knows that i am a huge Bella Thorne fan and I have to watch every single one of her movies. So  of course i wasn't going to miss out on this one.

Ten years after an apocalyptic event that left the world haunted by ghosts, Roni joins forces with a mysterious classmate, Kirk, and descends into a shadow world that blurs the bound of the living and the dead - and begins a desperate race against time to stop a mysterious killer.

I Still See You is a thriller that needed an extra push. And by that i mean : the storyline (based on the novel Break my heart a 1000 times) and the concept of the movie are great and creative, they're fresh, new and had a lot of potentials, but unfortunately they weren't properly executed. For starters, the first act of the movie lacked alot of important details (which were kind of necessary to understand the movie). Plus, as i mentioned before, the storyline is great and creative but Jason Lucks could've made it a lot more interesting. There's no suspense or thrilling what so ever. Which totally bummed me out and this is not how I want to feel while watching a movie. To continue, why is there only one plot happening? This, in my opinion, totally downgraded the whole film, i was hoping for a complicated and hard to figure out kind of movie, not a simple one.

But on the bright side, the final act was really good. It contained a much needed twist that helped in delivering a good message about trust and intuition. The cast was wisely chosen. Bella Thorne and Richard Harmon are a nice match and both delivered a good performance. Even though this is not 'Midnight Sun', Bella still managed to shine and make Veronica her own.

What im trying to say is that this film had all the right components to be a good movie to watch on Halloween but it lacked one important factor :good directing skills. (why Scott Speer?)

But with all its flaws im sure you'll like it.
