Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Overhyped… yet satisfying!!!! - 7.5/10

Does it have all the good elements to make it fun? Of course!! Does it deserve all the hype? Well… maybe not much!! “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” has so many interesting aspects to appreciate if you look at it as a “movie” and not another “Marvel Cinematic Event”. First of all, Sam Raimi’s signature was so present in this film and luckily, this “Horror” touch worked perfectly and made this one feel so unique compared to other generic MCU Films. It has this beautiful and clever mix between two genres and the director was able to perfectly balance all the elements in order to present something new. The CGI was awesome and the action sequences were beautifully choreographed and some of them even topped the first film. Dr. Strange was very interesting (as a character of course) and his development was remarkable. Benedict is always charismatic and knows how to portray this superhero in the best way possible. On the other hand, I didn’t like Wanda’s whole arc in this film to be honest (I can’t get into details without mentioning spoilers). It feels so weird to admit this, but Marvel actually overhyped this film and NO, it’s their fault not the audience’s!! As a result, I can see why diehard Marvel Fans will feel betrayed and disappointed when they watch this long-awaited sequel especially if they’re only searching for crazy cameos and extraordinary references. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is not the movie that I expected to see, but it turned out to be something fun and intriguing.
