Molly’s game is a movie based on a true story, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, which marks a solid debut of his directing career. The movie is about a young professional athele named Molly Bloom who was running private poker games after her retirement that included rich business men, hollywood stars, and the russian mafia, before being arrested by the FBI, two years later. The movie holds some complexity in its structure, as we keep going back in time with Molly. Jessia Chastain, playing the role of Molly, takes us in an intriguing journey in a hidden world, that we all know exist nevertheless. I personally always wanted to know more about the lives of people present in the movie, keeping in mind that it’s a true story, I was looking forward to it and I wasn’t disappointed to see that it shows the reality of things, with some details that directors tend to close an eye on in movies. It’s an amazing movie overall, and I would recommend it, we often see this kind of movie that fits more in the unrealistic Action genre, as for Molly’s game, it’s a totally different scenario that includes real life events. I would recommend it, and looking forward to see more of Aaron Sorkin’s work.
